Paid Protest is a comedy show that raises money for the Democratic Socialists and Other left leaning causes. Since 2017 we've had an awesome monthly show in Brooklyn and we decided to expand the show to Queens at QED. This month we are raising money for the Queens DSA.

Every Friday at 11pm, End of The Line Standup at QED is the place to be in Astoria! We curate a unique, laid-back night of some of the best comedians in NYC and beyond. You can check out our lineups (subject to change) on the show's Instagram stories. If you bought a ticket for the earlier 9:30pm QED Presents show your admission to End of the Line is FREE! Join the QBG Compost Staff to tour and care for our compost demo site by weeding, mulching, planting, applying compost and gardening. This is an outdoor event. Please dress for the weather, wear sunscreen, bring water or snacks, and dress comfortably. QBG staff will provide gloves. Registration required.

Join the QBG Compost staff on our epic compost build days! During our weekly Community Compost Build, volunteers will experience a mid-scale compost operation and get firsthand experience building a compost windrow using Queens-generated food scraps and QBG horticultural waste. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own food scraps to the build! Registration required.

Break out the board games and bring your friends to play anything you like. We'll have games to play, but you're welcome to bring your own group and games if you'd like! Weekday meetups are RSVP required due to limited space. Free admission with $5 or more purchase from QED. Weekend meetups, the more the merrier! No outside food or drinks are allowed. The Astoria Bookshop invites all 'Fast & The Furious' fans to an irreverent celebration of our favorite movie franchise about fast cars and found family. Film critic Barry Hertz, author of _Welcome to the Family: The Explosive Story Behind Fast & Furious, the Blockbusters that Supercharged the World_, will join Tuck Woodstock--co-editor of the anthology _2 Trans 2 Furious_ --for a conversation, Q&A, and trivia contest.

This social drawing event focuses on figure drawing from a live model. $15 in advance / $20 day of event. Advanced signup encouraged due to limited space! Model poses range from 1 to 15 minutes. No need to be a pro; stick figures and hand-turkeys welcome! Bring your friends or enjoy an evening of creative exploration and meeting local artists. Bring your own materials.
